Nano filtration is a pressure related process during which separation takes place based on molecule size. Nano filtration is mainly applied in drinking water purification process steps, such as water softening, decolouring and micro pollutant removal. Nano filtration is also applied in Agricultural and Business applications in the removal of specific components, such as coloring agents, sugars, dyes, surfactants, minerals, divalent salts, bacteria, proteins, particles, dyes, and total dissolved solids.

Because nano filtration uses less fine membranes, the feed pressure of the NF system is generally lower compared to reverse osmosis systems. Also the fouling rate is lower compared to RO systems.

Nanofiltration (NF) is not as fine a filtration process as reverse osmosis (RO), since the membrane pores are typically much larger. However, NF does not require the same energy to perform the separation. The differences between the two types of membrane are subtle, but distinct. Most notably, NF can reject only ions with more than one negative charge, such as sulfate or phosphate, while passing single charged ions.

Nanofiltration systems are used for water filtration, dairy and cattle farming, business, water softening, food, pharmaceutical, municipal, lake, river, and well water applications.

• Includes the chemical and salt free Maxi-Cure Nano pre-treatment system. The Maxi-Cure provides protection for the NF membrane against iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide gas, suspended solids, and more.
• Automatic Flush on start up - Fast flushes membrane each time the unit starts.
